Mission Statement
To engage all youth in the arts, promote creativity, and inspire success in education
Description
Kansas City Young Audiences (KCYA) is proud to celebrate nearly 60 years of providing high-quality arts education to the youth of Kansas City, Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas. Established as a non-profit agency in 1961 and affiliated with the national Young Audiences Arts for Learning network, Kansas City Young Audiences arts programs have helped more than 5 million children cultivate artistic expression; unleashing ideas, creativity, and individual problem solving skills - skills that enhance learning in Math, Science, English and History.
Through interactive workshops, residencies, performances and professional development, KCYA's programs strengthen a child's understanding of necessary educational concepts and teach educators how to successfully integrate the arts into core educational subjects. KCYA works with professional teaching artists who deliver programming in the schools and communities of Greater Kansas City. KCYA has become the largest non-profit arts education provider in the region.
