The Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic has an opening for a Volunteer Coordinator. You will be taking the reins from the current coordinator who will be moving over to fill another option position in our organization. This person needs to be able to work indpendantly without instruction and actively be working to obtain volunteers for our event. The systems that have been set in place make it easy for volunteers to sign up and keep them organized.
This person must have knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word and Excel) have basic computer knowledge of Internet and websites and be able to operated tablets, cash programs, and program specific software. The Volunteer Coordinator needs to be able to speak to a large crowd of people and be able to send emails to the volunteers on an ongoing basis.
Volunteers are the backbone of our event - even the SCHABC Board is made up of all volunteers so this person must be friendly and be able to organize a lot of people. Will train!
Does not need to be from the Sonoma area but needs to be able to be creative in finding volunteers by posting in various platforms.
Will need to be available for monthly progress reports and MUST be available all the days of the event and a few training days prior. If you think you have what it takes to lead hundreds of volunteers for this event. Come work with us!
