ORGANIZATION: The Animal Pad

The Animal Pad all-breed dog rescue is searching for a few more volunteers to join our Gratitude Team! We always want to ensure that all of our donors, adopters and fosters, venues, and partners feel appreciated and know how grateful we are! It's so nice to receive a card in the mail these days, especially a hand written one. Since we are 100% volunteer run and donation based, a thank you via mail (or e-mail) goes a very long way and really makes a huge difference!

Each department under the Gratitude umbrella has its own manager that the Director of Gratitude (DOG!) oversees. For example, Adoptions has a dedicated Gratitude team member who is responsible for thanking Adopters, Foster Team has a dedicated Gratitude team member, and so on. We are looking for at least one volunteer to handle writing 'thank you' notes to our amazing monthly donors (aka the "TAP Pack"). Ideally, these volunteers could also assist our Director of Gratitude with 'thank you' notes for one-time donations received through our website.
This role will involve heavy note writing, as the majority of our 'thank you' notes are handwritten notes that are mailed out, so legible handwriting is a must!

All needed supplies (TAP 'thank you' cards, stamps, envelopes, etc.) will be provided, as will instruction/training. Since this volunteer role is done remotely, you do not have to be local to San Diego to join our team!

We can do like 2-3 depending on volunteer interest! Mainly right now I’m really wanting to throw together some kind of thank you/happy holidays/happy new year mailed to all of the fosters that have helped out this past year! Catalina and Anna have been super busy with party stuff, so we haven’t gotten to come up with much of a game plan yet, but planning on it hopefully after this weekend! She did let me know that she’d prefer local for the physical cards and that Nas is the exception now since she’s been doing stuff with her for a while haha but we can always think about down the line people that are out of area that could maybe help with digital/email thank yous and stuff!

About The Animal Pad

Location:

4620 Avocado Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91941, US

Mission Statement

The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue based in San Diego, CA that focuses on saving dogs from the streets of Mexico and high kill shelters. We get them the vet care they need, place them in foster homes and then find them loving forever families. Our mission is to form a safe space for dogs experiencing crisis and neglect, and to build a community of compassion through education, rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Our community of volunteers and fosters strives to ensure that all dogs get a fighting chance, and believes that no case is too extreme to be helped - meaning our rescue is full of perfectly imperfect dogs who can’t wait to meet you! Being operated solely by volunteers and funded entirely by donations, none of what we do could be possible without our dedicated team!

Description

Here at TAP, we give voice to the voiceless and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find them the best homes possible. Founded in 2010, The Animal Pad is volunteer run and funded entirely by donations. We rescue dogs primarily off the streets of Mexico, and provide them full medical care and a loving foster home to heal in before they head to their adoptive home.
