Adult Volunteers needed, weekdays. Time selections: 2pm-4pm (priority), 2pm-6pm, 3pm-6pm or 4pm-6pm, to help with one or more of the following: pack meals into containers & seal closed; food prep like cutting veggies; sort, organize and/or move food into appropriate areas; clean in and around kitchen like counters, pots or sweep, mop floors, yard work, and other tasks as needed.
Face masks no longer required but strongly recommended. Gloves and hair nets required in kitchen area. Please do not participate when you are unwell. Reschedule later.
Starting March 13, 2023 The Emmanuel House will start to provide breakfast (instead of lunch) and dinner, 6 days a week. Providing meals (breakfast and dinner) will help many homeless and low income individuals more now than ever, due to the rising food costs and after effects of COVID on many individuals.
Appropriate Attire: Mandatory closed toe shoes: no sandals or flipflops or open toe shoes allowed. Hair nets and plastic gloves provided and must be used. Short or long sleeve shirts, no spaghetti straps, sleeveless, tank top type shirts or short shorts/dresses/skirts; must be appropriate length, longer not shorter.
Required:
-Register as volunteer on-line (e-waivers need to be completed)
-Must be 18 or older
-Attend Volunteer Orientation (25-30 minutes), at least 3 days before first day volunteering.
-Clearance on Megan's Law Registry
-Initial USDA Forms
-Volunteers reaching 20 hours in a year need Background Check to continue
