Grief Support Group Facilitators

We're seeking volunteer facilitators for children and teens grief support groups. Volunteer Facilitators are asked to make a commitment to co-facilitate at least one group monthly for one year (September through May). A comprehensive training is offered and includes: an experiential and instructive guiding framework for understanding the grief and loss experience of children, teens and families; reviews of educational information and research regarding children and grief; and instruction on how to be an effective peer support group facilitator. In-person training is at our Bannockburn office.

The mission of Willow House is to develop and provide supportive services for children, teens, families, schools and communities who are coping with grief and the death of a loved one.
Description
Willow House exists because when a child experiences the death of a mom, dad, sister or brother they feel lost and alone; their life and family is changed forever. Willow House provides a safe place of hope where it is okay to feel sad and talk about it. It gives kids strength through connection with others so they can move through their grief. We give them back the potential to thrive, not just survive.
