We're seeking volunteer facilitators for children and teens grief support groups. Volunteer Facilitators are asked to make a commitment to co-facilitate at least one group monthly for one year (September through May). A comprehensive training is offered in September and includes: an experiential and instructive guiding framework for understanding the grief and loss experience of children, teens and families; reviews of educational information and research regarding children and grief; and instruction on how to be an effective peer support group facilitator.

In-person facilitator training will take place at our Bannockburn headquarters on Saturday, September 18th from 9 am to 4 pm; Wednesday, September 22nd from 6 pm to 9 pm; and Saturday, September 25th from 9 am - 4 pm. Interested Volunteer Facilitators must attend all three training sessions.

Willow House exists because when a child experiences the death of a mom, dad, sister or brother they feel lost and alone; their life and family is changed forever. Willow House provides a safe place of hope where it is okay to feel sad and talk about it. It gives kids strength through connection with others so they can move through their grief. We give them back the potential to thrive, not just survive.
