This is a volunteer position, however it will give you valuable work experience while helping to further our efforts of helping victims of abuse.

Company Description: Abuse Refuge Org (ARO) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3). We focus our best efforts and practices to assist and help those abused by aiding in 10 major areas of abuse to include: Sexual, Physical, Narcissistic, Psychological, Financial, Bullying, Spousal, Cyber, Child, and Self-abuse.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of finance assistants.

Responsibilities And What You Will Do

  • Assist the Finance Manager with the annual budgeting and planning process
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of financial information for the organization
  • Monitor the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Ensures financial information has been recorded accurately
  • Prepare financial and budget statements, reports, projections, and analysis.
  • Oversee end of month and end of year closing activities
  • Contribute to budget planning, amending budgets and tracking actual expenditures



Education and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or another relevant field
  • Be available to volunteer 15+ hours a week
  • 2+ years of work experience in finance
  • Work well in a team setting
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
