We are excited to announce that we are looking for volunteers for our afterschool program. SAY (Sports, Academics, Youth) Detroit Play Center serves as a learning center for elementary, middle, and highschool students. Volunteers will provide tutoring services to students in English, Reading Literacy, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) subjects. We are also seeking volunteers to help ensure the program runs smoothly in regards to logistics and documentation.
Volunteers will be paired with students and provide tutoring based on the student’s educational and developmental needs. We are also partnering with Eton Academy to ensure our volunteers are comfortable and prepared to engage our students in the fall.

Description
The new S.A.Y. Play Center will take a unique approach to Motivational Learning, offering top flight athletic facilities and access to professional athletes such as Matthew Stafford-but only if participants (students aged 8 to 18) maintain a certain grade point average, school attendance and enroll in the daily on site tutoring program.

REQUIREMENTS
- The Fall program will be from September-December. The program is Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm-6:00pm. You can volunteer any two days out of the week for 75 minute sessions.
