About 8by8
In the past year, anti-Asian and anti-AAPI hate crimes have risen by over 150%, along with high profile hate incidents that have captured the national attention. We believe that the path to stopping hatred and discrimination in its tracks starts at the ballot box, so we're challenging everyone to share our message of voter registration with 8 people in 8 days.

To make this happen, we're recruiting dedicated volunteers from across the nation to promote our message and grow our organization, both online and in-person. We are looking for volunteers who are passionate, hard-working, and excited about 8by8 and the #StopAsianHate movement. Regardless of role, all volunteers will receive:

  • Signed community service hours
  • A reference for future work or volunteer opportunities
  • Hands-on experience and the opportunity for advancement in an area of their choosing

Pilot Testers

To close the voter registration gap, we are building an easy-to-use web app that will reward users for registering 8 friends to vote in 8 days with food from local restaurants. As we build this app, we are looking for volunteers to "test pilot" it in their own circles by taking the 8by8 challenge; posting to their social media and inviting friends to register to vote.

This is a great quick and easy way to support our work, and get involved in the #StopAsianHate movement! The feedback we receive will be critical in optimizing our app, and allowing us to stay on track for our launch schedule

No prior experience is required for this position, and we need as many volunteers with as many unique perspectives as we can get! As long as you are eligible to vote or will become eligible to vote in the future in the United States, we would love to have your participation.

For interested volunteers, we offer the opportunity to be part of our pilot testing team on an ongoing basis, although this is completely optional. We are also happy to sign for service hours for ongoing volunteers!
