Volunteer ushers are trained one hour before the show begins, and are offered a complimentary ticket to the performance. Ushers are required to stay through the show to assist with concessions at intermission and light clean-up after the show. This is a fun way to support your local arts community!

Mission Statement

Literate, visceral, affecting theatre that is experienced- not simply seen.

Description

Burning Coal Theatre Company is an intimate, professional theatre in downtown Raleigh. We are located in the historic Murphey School Auditorium, which was the school that ended Raleigh segregation in 1960. We usually produce re-imagined classics and new works that connect deeply to our social environment today. All volunteer ushers are able to see our shows for free. We also offer discounts to seniors and military/veterans.
