RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) volunteers are over the age of 55 who volunteer their time and talent in serving their communities. Volunteers are matched with their skills, wisdom, and talents with the needs of the community in which they live.

Volunteers are needed to assist with early childhood literacy programs and mentoring for children at risk for grades and attendance.

Volunteers are needed to work local food pantries. Some are walk in and some are drive thru. Volunteers can assist with registering clients, filling orders, stocking shelves, carry out, etc. Volunteers can also be on stand by for trucking donations.

Volunteers are needed to make (sew, knit, or crotchet) comfort items for those in need such as sewing crisis teddy bears, making quiet books for infants and toddlers, cancer quilts, walker bags, lap robes, shawls, etc.

Description

The National Mentoring Program matches adult positive role models with children ages 9-17 that are at risk for many factors. Grades and school attendance are monitored. Matches meet after school and weekends to spend 1-2 hours per week or 6-8 hours per month doing fun activities and become their friend.
