ORGANIZATION: ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY OF LANE COUNTY INC

Hands-on work with children ages infant to 5 years old in therapeutic, trauma-informed care setting, involving a preschool classroom for 3-5 year olds, and a nursery/toddler classroom. Class runs from 9:30-1:00PM. Volunteers would arrive at 9:00 AM and leave by 1:30PM, allowing for 4.5 hours of volunteering per day.

Volunteer roles include leading/supporting activities, preparing/serving food, supervising indoor/outdoor free play, helping with naps, and assisting in classroom setup/cleanup.

If interested, volunteers have an opportunity to participate in conducting developmental screenings (Ages and Stages Questionnaire), learning about family referrals, and supporting Family Support Activities.

Volunteers are supported with a New Volunteer Training at the beginning of the term, as well as daily briefing/debriefing meetings with preschool staff to answer/address questions or concerns.
