Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization based in Rhode Island. We were established in 2018 and have provided services to over 1000 cats in our community to date. Ten Lives is volunteer-powered and does not have paid staff or employees. Our program consists of approximately 100 volunteers who donate their time to perform administrative tasks, fundraising, fostering, events, community outreach, and TNR. Ten Lives does not have a facility of shelter and all of the cats in our program reside in foster homes until adopted. We do not receive any state or city funding and all of our life-saving funds come from generous donors who believe in our mission statement and various grant programs.

Ten Lives is looking for an experienced veterinarian to join our board of directors. An ideal candidate would be passionate about helping cats in our community, eager to provide strategic leadership for a growing organization, and dedicated to strengthening our mission and the volunteers who make our vital work possible. The Board of Directors is responsible for providing strategic leadership that ensures the financial wellbeing of the organization, meets the needs of the community, and implements best practices in all aspects of the work and management of the organization.

Currently, the Board of Directors consists of four members, including three founding members. Due to COVID, meetings are held virtually until further notice.

About TEN LIVES CAT RESCUE

Location:

Foster Based, Pawtucket, RI 02860, US

Mission Statement

Ten Lives Cat Rescue is committed to saving homeless, abused, and abandoned cats by providing veterinary care, rehabilitation services, and then placing them into loving adoptive homes. We are dedicated to giving a second chance to those who have been forgotten: seniors, the physically and emotionally scarred, the behaviorally challenged, and those who need critical medical care. Along with our immediate mission to rescue cats, Ten Lives is dedicated to educating communities about cat overpopulation and inspiring change.

Description

Ten Lives is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit rescue that is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have any paid staff or employees and rely on the generosity of our community to complete our life-saving mission. We are a foster-based organization and all of our adoptable cats reside in foster homes until adopted. Our program does not receive state, city, or federal funding. All of our critical life-saving funds come from generous donors who believe in our mission statement!

Ten Lives was founded in February 2018 in an effort to reduce the homeless cat population in Rhode Island and inspire change in our community. In May 2018 we accepted the first cat into our program and since then we have provided services for over 1000 cats. At Ten Lives, we're dedicated to giving a second chance to those who have been neglected and forgotten, including cats in need of socialization and critical medical care. In response to the overwhelming need for help with both populations, we created The Forgotten Feline Program and The Lazzy Fund.

In 2020, Ten Lives launched a low cost spay and neuter voucher program in an effort to reduce the cat population in Rhode Island and inspire owners to spay or neuter their cat. To date, we have distributed over 100 vouchers to community members!
