Two- and four-legged (canine) members of the community are invited to enjoy a tail-waggin’ good time at the Animal Care Society’s (ACS) 16th Annual Bark in the Park and Woof Walk on Saturday, October 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event, which is one of the main annual fundraisers for ACS, will be held at Seneca Park off Cannons Lane, near the tennis courts.
Woof Walk/Run
Runners and walkers are encouraged to gather a team and secure monetary pledges for completing the 5k walk/run, which will begin at 8 a.m. Dogs are welcome to accompany their owners on the walk/run. Participants may pre-register for $25 (plus tax) on the shelter's website, www.animalcaresociety.org, or they may register the day of the event for $30 (plus tax).
Win great prizes in canine-themed contests:
Kissing Contest: This year, we’ll put "Puppy Love" to the ultimate test as our judges try to determine which pooch has the best smooch.
Howl-o-ween Costume Contest: Dogs rival humans celebrating Halloween when they dress in all sorts of costumes for this contest. Owners are welcome to get into the act, too!
Pet/Owner Look Alike Contest: This contest will stretch our judges’ imaginations as they try to figure out common features between people and their pets.
Dog of the Year: This is a day-long contest where pet lovers have submitted their precious pups' pictures in advance and the general public has the final vote with the almighty dollar. Submission accepted on or before September 23. Contact the shelter for details.
The day will be rounded out with a Silent Auction and Raffles, Food, Dog-themed Booths, Games and Inflatables for the kids.

Mission Statement
MISSION
The Animal Care Society's prime purpose is to find new, caring homes for pets whose owners can no longer give them the love or care they need. We provide a "home away from home" atmosphere and access to medical care. Because our space is limited and we do not practice euthanasia, a pet's age, temperment, and health are factors we must assess before taking in any pet.
Description
Animal Care Society is a non-profit, no-kill adoption center for dogs and cats
