ECCL Education Lee District Schools Liaison

Reports To: Education Council Chairperson

The Education Lee District Schools liaison is tasked with being aware of and sharing events and activities of the Lee District Schools. This person contributes to ensuring quality educational organizations and programs, resulting in the Estero-Area being recognized as a destination where people want to live, worship, conduct business, and educate their children.

Responsibilities of the Education Service-Learning Committee Chairperson:

  • Focal point
    • Understand events, efforts, and activities of the School District
      • School Choice
      • Impact fees
      • .5 cent sales tax
      • Charter schools
      • Transportation safety
      • Magnet schools
      • Annual report
    • Maintain an ECCL web presence
    • Report at Education Council meetings
    • Communications activities
      • Brief at monthly members meetings
      • Compose articles for publishing in local and community newsletters
      • Compose a list of activities students can volunteer for
      • Submit to post on the ECCL website
      • Share success stories on the web
    • Recruit guest speakers for member meetings
    • Coordination work with other ECCL Councils and committees for volunteer opportunities
