Are you looking to be part of a team that fulfills a critical need in the community?

Objective: To assist with the monthly food delivery and distribution at the Homewood/ Brushton Salvation Army located at 8020 Frankstown Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15221


Major Responsibilities:

  1. Unload the food delivery truck
  2. Organize boxes of food onto tables
  3. Distribute food to clients according to guidelines provided by The Salvation Army
  4. Clean up and place leftover food in designated areas


Qualifications:

  1. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  2. Positive, friendly attitude in assisting clients
  3. Able to work in cooperation with others
  4. Dependable


Intake and Training:

  1. Complete a Statement of Volunteers form
  2. Complete The Salvation Army’s clearance process, which includes a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and child abuse training
  3. On-the-job training will be provided on the first day of volunteering


Time Commitment: 9 AM to 3 PM on the third Wednesday of every month, as able
