Join Team Special Care for this special volunteer opportunity to help at The Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon. It takes more than 2,000 volunteers to support race week activities.

Volunteer Job Information:

Event Info: Eversource Hartford Marathon & Half Marathon - Saturday, October 8, 2022

  1. Hartford Course Monitors - 7:00-11:00am - to direct and cheer the Half Marathon and Full Marathon runners
  2. Food Tent - 7:00am-11:00am - to hand-out post race food and beverages
  3. Baggage - 5:00am-9:45am - collect runner baggage and store it before the races begin.

Check In Location: Bushnell Park, Jewell Street, Hartford, CT

Volunteer Amenities: Long Sleeve tech shirt and drawstring bag, Breakfast food and coffee at Volunteer Check in, lunch available at Bushnell park. (Expo Volunteers receive a short sleeve t shirt and will have a meal available during their shift.) Course Monitor volunteers earn $10 off a future HMF Event or online HMF Merchandise. All Volunteers earn $5 off a future HMF Event or online Merchandise. These credits can be transferred to friends and family members.

Hospital for Special Care is a private, not-for-profit, 228 bed Long-Term, Acute-Care hospital licensed by the state of CT. as a chronic disease hospital. The hospital is renowned for its expertise in physical rehabilitation, respiratory care and medically-complex pediatrics. In addition, special programs are available in the treatment of spinal cord injuries and illness, acquired brain injuries, strokes and breathing disorders.

We also provide a full range of outpatient services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, rehabilitation evaluation, neuropsychology and pulmonary rehabilitation programs. The hospital also includes a 27,000 foot Aquatic Rehabilitation Center, which completes the full spectrum of rehabilitation and community fitness activities offered.

We also have a 28 bed satellite facility located within Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT. The satellite serves patients who are medically or surgically complex and/or require specialized care.
