URISA Texas is 100% volunteer run, and the work we're doing would not be possible without our amazing volunteers.
URISA Texas currently has 4 active committees looking for volunteers:
- Events:
- Whether virtual or in person, URISA Texas strives to hold monthly events including but not limited to our Monthly Speaker Series Webinar. We need the help of volunteers to plan and organize events throughout Texas.
- Communications:
- Our communications team is key more than ever right now as we let our members and those on our emails lists know what we've got going on. We need the help of volunteers to post on social media and send out emails to our members.
- Outreach:
- We have several educational initiatives that have unfortunately been put on hold due to the current crisis, however we are hoping that they resume quickly. We have also grown our sponsorship program over the last several years and are always looking for help finding new sponsors and educational programs where we can spread our mission statement.
- GIS Day:
- GIS day is a nationwide event, we have partnered with ATX GIS day to make a committee specifically for the annual event. We need the help of volunteers to organize and help keep this initiative going.
From time to time we also have very specific tasks that we need volunteers for that are administrative based or simply do not fit into one of the committees, and we do our best to communicate these needs to our volunteer list as they come up.
