Juvenile Conference Committee
Superior Court of NJ Middlesex County is seeking volunteers to become members of the the Juvenile Conference Committee. The Juvenile Conference Committee meets in the evening once a month. We would like citizens from the community to sit on this board as volunteers and help guide the children. They make recommendations to the Judge as to how the complaint should be handled within the community. The goals are to involve community members in the court process and to prevent young offenders from future delinquency.
Child Placement Review Board Superior Court of NJ is seeking Middlesex County Residents to volunteers and become members of the Child Placement Review Board. There are two 45 day review boards located at 120 New Street in New Brunswick, Family Court House. Residents of Middlesex will monitor the cases of all children who are placed outside their home by the Division of Youth & Family Services. Review case files, discuss cases with team, and make recommendations. Division of Youth and Family Services (DFYS) workers are at the meetings to clarify any questions pertaining to the cases.
The Volunteers in Probation
Program is staffed with volunteers
from the community who mentor
adults on probation. Each volunteer
will be assigned to supervise an
adult on probation. You will meet
once a week with the probationer to
make sure they are fulfilling the
requirements of their probation & to
maintain regular contact with
the supervising probation officer.
Volunteers address issues in the
court order that include
counseling. Only probationers with
minor or non-violent offenses are
allowed to participate in the
