On September 18th, my dog Mocha and I will begin a trek across Massachusetts, me in an electric wheelchair, to raise awareness and money to combat hunger and to highlight the impacts of the pandemic and climate change. All the you need to know is at 4Hunger.org. We are trying to raise $250,000 and to create space to talk and have reported about hunger in Massachusetts, America and the world for the seven weeks that it will take me and my loving labradoodle Mocha to cross from West Stockbridge to Boston to Provincetown.

We have all sorts of logistical, social media, fundraising engagement ideas that are not being implemented due to lack of human capacity. Whatever your passion we will have something that you can do to help. Additionally once the Roll/Stroll gets started there will be all sorts of support and engagement opportunities!

Description

Worthy Causes, Inc. Had held two other events: in 2007 we raised money for CARE and Doctors Without Borders' work to help the people of DArfur, Sudan in 2007 and to bolster the work of OxFam and the Natural Resources Defense Council's work to combat climate change in 2009. The extent of pandemic related hunger became clear and the fact that the pandemic was actually a warning of the disruptions in food production and displacement of people the will be caused by climate change. We then moved to reinstate our tax-exempt status, which we have and to organize an event which will raise both awareness and money to comat hunger and to highlight the impacts of the pandemic and climate change.
