Volunteers are needed to assist with setup the day before, Friday 10/15 12-5pm and the day of Saturday 10/16 7am-4:30pm. Volunteer tasks and positions will include, assisting with event setup, assisting with plant sale, vendors, exhibitors & guest speakers, guiding guests to parking areas, assisting with children’s activity, and helping with event breakdown.

Shifts can be as short as 2 hours or for the whole event accoriding to volunteers availability

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Florida Native Plant Society is to promote the preservation, conservation, and restoration of the native plants and native plant communities of Florida.

Description

FNPS members across the state bring expertise for a broad array conservation projects:

  • seed collection for restoration projects
  • propagation of plants for restoration projects
  • monitoring of plant populations
  • native plant surveys and floristic inventories
  • invasive plant species removal
  • prescribed fire
  • plant rescues from sites slated for development

Our partners include Florida State Parks, Florida Water Management Districts, Florida Forest Service, Orlando International Airport, county and city parks, local nature preserves, private landowners, Peninsular Florida Landscape Conservation Cooperative, Florida Wildflower Foundation, Florida Association of Native Nurseries, and many more.
