In partnership with community health nurses, our Wellness Champions will bring interactive educational programs to participants at community clinics. If you have an interest in improving the health and well-being of others this opportunity will be a great fit. Bring your enthusiasm for living well by leading groups in guided relaxation, gentle stretching, and tips for a healthy diet. Volunteers will lead groups and prepare a healthy snack for participants. The program content and handouts will be provided to our volunteer facilitators.
Must enjoy meeting new people, have an interest in healthy lifestyles and an ability to speak to small groups.
Retired healthcare professionals and students seeking a degree in medical fields are encouraged to apply.

Description
Founded in Newport in 1950, Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice has grown from a small grassroots homecare agency to a regional homecare organization employing over 300 people. Headquartered in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, we also have branch offices in North Kingstown and Providence as well as a supply station in Swansea, Massachusetts. We provide home care nursing, rehabilitation, hospice & palliative care, maternal child health, social work, and community clinics to over 900 patients daily and take pride in living our mission of providing optimal health and quality of life for individuals across Rhode Island and in Southeastern Massachusetts.

- 1 hour a week from October - May (Monday-Friday only)
- Volunteers will be required to provide proof of immunizations to measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox, have an agency provided 2 step PPD. Proof of Covid and Flu vaccine. Pass a criminal background check and complete an orientation.
