The CCWC is an all-volunteer body. The CCWC is made up of between nine and fifteen members - board members - who reside in Washington County or are members of a business or organization significantly involved in arts, heritage or humanities activities in Washington County. Board members are residents of, or own property in Washington County, own a business or rent studio space in Washington County, or operate an arts group or school that serves Washington County. The diverse group of volunteers who comprise the CCWC board share the common interest of promoting the success of the arts, cultural, and heritage organizations and entities of Washington County, a shared belief that the arts and cultural sectors are valuable, and a passion for supporting this work in the community. A board member’s term is three years and begins from the month they are appointed.Board members meet 5 to 7 times a year. Currently, on Thursday evenings, via Zoom. Some members serve on the Grants Review Committee and make recommendations for what Washington County arts initiatives will receive funding, and the full board then votes on these recommendations. The board also organizes an annual celebration of grants recipients. Most of the board requirements happen online, via the board member's own Internet-connected device. Onsite meetings may resume if the pandemic eases. More information about the board and how to apply as a member is here: https://ccwashco.org/board/
