HIRING: Co-Director of Social Media (unpaid volunteer position)

The Global Diplomat is a diverse and completely student-run organization platform built with the purpose of educating youth on global issues, public affairs, and foreign policy. We provide a strong and safe platform where students can explore and publicly express their diverse points of view on topics they care about. We are currently expanding our divisions and looking for a passionate, dedicated Director of Social Media interested in managing the social media team .

Job description

A candidate must manage and participate in 1. Social Media Management Meeting every other week (scheduled in advance), 2. Management Meeting and 3. General Group Meeting a few times a year on Sunday @ 10 am EST .

• Manage and coordinate the Social Media team (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, Tiktok, Twitter).
• Assist managers in laying out strategies to promote follower growth and engagement
• Guide and oversee content output on social media platforms appropriate to Gen Z and Millennial demographics
• Proactive quality control of content, graphics, and overall image of social media accounts; providing constant feedback on content
• Coordinate the social media division with the marketing team in promoting events/panels and partnerships with other organizations
• Communicate closely with theCo-Director of Social Media and Director of Marketing to promote brand growth

Requirements:

• Currently in either high school or university.
• 24/7 access to the Internet and will be able to promptly communicate with team members through various platforms, including Slack and Instagram.
• Ability to commit to our organization at a minimum until June 2022.
• Ideally possess the following skills/qualities:
• Ability to direct, manage and coordinate a team
• Proficient understanding and knowledge of multiple social media platforms
• Proficient knowledge of graphic design
• Proficient writing and verbal communication skills
• Organization, efficiency, creativity, self-initiative, responsibility and communication skills
• Dedication and basic knowledge of remote work tools (i.e. Zoom, Google Drive, etc.)
