ORGANIZATION: ELMWOOD PARK BIBLE CHURCH

The Elmwood Park Community Food Pantry serves those in our community that are suffering from food insecurity. As a partner of the Greater Chicago Food Depository food deliveries are received at the pantry on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. Delivery is approximately 9500 pounds of food, 6-8 pallets and requires 7- 9 STRONG individuals to move the food off the pallets and placed into storage in the pantry. As the pallets are being emptied there is another team of individuals working to stock shelves as quickly as possible. Before the day is done the pantry must be ready for our guests the next morning, including all boxes broken down.

Mission Statement

Elmwood Park Community Church is uniquely positioned and located to have the maximum impact upon the Village of Elmwood Park for the glory of God through various ministries. Two service ministries have been established to aid anyone within the church, the Village of Elmwood Park and surrounding communities via the Food Pantry and Clothes Closet. Food and clothing will be provided to those in need through the financial and material donations of the church, the Greater Chicago Food Depository, other institutions and the community on an emergent basis and weekly on Saturday mornings. These services will be provided regardless of race, religion, sex or color.

Description

Although the Elmwood Park Community Church has been active in the community for many years the Food Pantry and Clothes Closet have only been serving the community on a routine basis since December 2020. Currently we are serving on average 72 households/130 individuals on a weekly basis in the pantry and over 40 in the clothes closet twice a month.
