Who We Are: The Children NEED Parents Campaign’s mission is to raise public awareness of the crisis with displaced children in the United States -- those in foster care and other child-caring systems - and galvanize public support for changing the systems that surround the kids to facilitate placement with at least one mature adult in a lifelong, legally secure relationship. We do this with volunteers who use the web, social media, and virtual Coffee Chats to communicate our mission and encourage public support.
Who Are We Looking For: A Back Office Wizard (aka Operations Manager), who will work directly with the Executive Director to manage Campaign office functions, coordinate activities of volunteer staff, and assure that volunteers have the necessary communication tools to enable collaboration.
Time commitment is as much or as little as a person’s schedule permits.

Mission Statement
Children NEED Parents is a campaign to bring awareness to the reality that there are more than 1,000,000 children in our country who needlessly find themselves with no functional family. Data shows, however, that there are more than enough families willing and able to provide the support, guidance, and love that these children are living without. There is much misinformation and many preconceived notions that contribute to this problem. We need to correct this and get families for EVERY child. We are looking for you to help bring attention to this problem by signing our petition which will be used to garner the resources to allow this to happen. Description
There are at least 1,000,000 displaced children in the U.S. They are at phenomenal risk of being unable to function properly as adults. 30 - 50% of compromised adults grew up on their own- displaced from family. "Angie" has been in 32 different foster houses and group homes. She’s 14 now. Why??? The Campaign says lack of resources, fundamental misinformation, and wrong assumptions have led to this tragedy. The Campaign says her tragedy is/was avoidable.
We have been around for a while but this is a heavy lift- we're basically a start-up with a vision.
We're a very small group of committed individuals who are finding it very difficult to get an organization off the ground. At this time, we have a fairly clear organizational structure but no volunteers to fill the allotted slots. A major piece that is currently missing is a cohesive marketing plan and we have a demonstrated inability to develop one. The Campaign is simply a guerrilla marketing, public education effort telling the public that there are enough families to care for each and every one of these children. We want to create/demonstrate a groundswell of public opinion which will authorize policy makers to do the difficult work of changing the systems that surround the kids.
This is an idea whose time is coming. It is sea-change, cultural construction (reconstruction) and is for those who can generate a large vision. We welcome applications.
