New Horizon Humane Society, Inc. (NHHS) is an independent, Nonprofit 501(C)3 Tax Exempt Organization. Our goals include the prevention of animal cruelty, providing shelter for unwanted and homeless companion animals until forever homes are found and to educate the general public about the importance of Spaying/Neutering their pets and the humane treatment of animals.
Our Mission
New Horizon Humane Society’s mission is to improve the welfare of animals through spay/neuter programs, affordable veterinary services, innovative adoption and comprehensive humane education programs. In addition to provide no income, low-income individuals, and families with the resources necessary to be able to keep their fur babies safe, happy, healthy, and at home with them instead of having to be abandoned, given away or put into shelters. All those scenarios can have awfully bad outcomes.
Our Vision
Our vision is to make pet ownership a reality to many people who would not otherwise have that opportunity due to financial constraints. Every day, we make a difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them. We serve animals and help them to live better, healthier, happier lives through quality veterinary care services.
Our Purpose
New Horizon Humane Society, Inc. (NHHS) is a small, non-profit volunteer-based organization. Our purpose include providing shelter for unwanted and homeless companion animals until forever homes are found and to educate the general public about humane treatment of animals.

New Horizon Humane Society Inc is an all-volunteer, No Kill, 501c3 non-profit organization that focuses on saving those animals. Their is an overpopulation of unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned population of animals in Mid Michigan. Most shelters are full in capacity and most regard as cats as free roaming animals. We are in need of a new shelter. The only way that can happen is by generous people like you. We are working directly to end the problem of killing homeless animals in our own community. Special Events Coordinators New Horizon Humane Society Inc. isn’t just another rescue. We are here to shape rescue. Join us as a Special Events Coordinator volunteer! Events Coordinators will plan and ensure the execution of special events/fundraising events that are important for increasing awareness about our organization, the population of special needs/considerations animals we serve, and the important work we are doing for the animals of Mid Michigan and that are integral to raising the funds necessary to support that work. Special Events Coordinators will, under the direction of NHHS’s Executive Director, plan and execute special events/fundraising events throughout the year. Each NHHS Special Event Coordinator will be responsible for (and must be able to commit to) creating/planning/leading/executing/managing/marketing at least 1 special event per year and will also assist the other NHHS Special Events Coordinators with the events that they are leading. Take the lead of one of our annual events or use your imagination to create a new, fun event our supporters will want to attend and that will attract new people to come learn about our organization and engage them to be supporters themselves! Special events in the past have included happy hours, car washes, rummage sales, etc. Special Events Coordinators will also be a part of the committee to plan a major annual organizational event. The Special Event Coordinator must attend a planning meeting every other month (6 a year) to share ideas and coordinate with the rest of the Special Events Team and any additional meetings deemed necessary for proper planning and execution by the Executive Director and other Special Events Coordinators such as when working on a special project. Special Events coordination tasks are done outside of planning meetings on your own or in collaboration with other volunteers. Work on volunteer tasks around your schedule! We are looking for several volunteers to fill several Special Events Coordinator roles with NHHS The right individuals will strongly believe in our mission, vision, and core values (please visit our website, www.newhorizonhumane.org to learn about us before inquiring/applying for this volunteer position) and have a sincere interest in elevating our organization, extending our reach, and growing with us (so commitment and dedication are important). Must be motivated, and a self-starter with initiative, drive, ambition, and the ability to work independently. Must also be willing and able to accept direction to produce messaging, results, and practices consistent with that of the overall organization as a whole. Individuals must be able to follow through on their commitments. NHHS is looking for volunteers to fill these roles who recognize the importance of working on behalf of the special animals we serve and will work hard for them as they are counting on us to save their lives! Think big! Be creative! Throw great parties where supporters can have fun while doing good! When many people do a little to make a difference, together, we make change. Special Events/Fundraisers are an integral (and really fun!) part of serving the special needs/considerations animals we do and providing them everything and anything they need to be happy and healthy. The more volunteer help we have, the more animals whose only hope is NHHS we can help. Will you help? If you want to help and can fulfill the needs we are looking for in a volunteer for this role, please email adopt@nhhshumane.org or reply to this posting. Please help us do more for the animals of this community! Thank you.

Description

New Horizon Humane Society Inc is a small team of volunteers working to save the lives of companion animals Cats/Dogs etc. We are a foster-based group, meaning these wonderful volunteers house our rescued animals in their own homes! We do not have a facility where all the animals stay, which means you don't meet everyone at once. We will set an appointment and the foster moms (and dads!) will welcome you into their home to meet the adoptable cat/dog that you are interested in. We do occasionally hold adoption events in town, where you may see a larger population of our adoptable animals at one time
