Butterfly Hospice Care is currently seeking Patient Care Volunteers for our Upland Office, serving Orange County, San Bernardino County and Riverside County. The Patient Care Volunteer may work in a variety of capacities, including providing personal care, emotional support, and practical assistance for patients and their families. Job responsibilities may include companionship visits, household chores, meal preparation, and bereavement support for grieving families.

This position will be ideal for persons with a desire to assist others in daily living activities with guidance and support from the Volunteer Coordinator or Case Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a cleared background check/health screen
  • Successful completion of hospice volunteer training and orientation program.
  • Ability to work within the interdisciplinary group
  • Supportive of the hospice concept and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity

Description

At Butterfly Hospice Care, Hospice volunteers are essential to our hospice team, as Volunteers range from direct contact with patients to clerical work for our organization. Some opportunities available for hospice volunteers include:

  • Companionship support to patients and their loved ones
  • Non-medical services, such as, letter writing, errands, or respite time for family
  • Bereavement support
  • Administrative Work
  • Special Skills and Interests (Pet therapy/Music therapy)
