Mission Statement
518 ElevatED's mission is to provide specialized programs, mentoring, professional guidance, and academic and financial support for qualifying high school students in the Capital Region. By assembling a network of business leaders, educational advocates, and dedicated volunteers, promising youth are provided opportunity and access to higher education that may be otherwise unavailable.
Description
The vision of 518 ElevatED is that through the transformative power of education and mentorship, we will equip our students to navigate their world, leading to a more inclusive and equitable future.
As of 2022, we have supported more than 330 local students as they earned their college degrees, and we actively work with 86 high school students and more than 150 college students.
Our Scholars graduate from high school at a 99% rate versus a local average of 65% for the schools we serve. Seventy -five percent of our Scholars earn a college degree. This compares to 39.7% degree attainment for the same demographic nationally.
