The Orlando VA is looking for Volunteer physicians to assist during this critical time in healthcare, to help provide the best care for our Veterans. It's very important to understand that there is a lot of administrative paperwork that only you will be able to fill out and other adminstrative requirements that are time sensitive, in order to bring you onboard.
Many physicians in private sector are used to having paperwork facilitated by administrative staff, however that is not the practice at the VA and you will need this to be part of your routine. If you are interested in serving our nations heroes and meet the below qualifications, please contact us to get started as one of our physician ambassadors. We look forward to hearing from you.
- Recent clinical experience (e.g. within 6 months) or currently practicing.
- Active medical license
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine/Family Practice but capable and experience of working in ED.

About Orlando VA Medical Center
13800 Veterans Way, Orlando, FL 32827, US
Orlando VA Voluntary Service is committed to the development of volunteer programs in support of quality, Veteran focused care through the recruitment of volunteers, utilization of community resources, and active involvement and engagement of community stakeholders, with our Veterans. On March 3, 1865, a month before the Civil War ended, President Abraham Lincoln authorized the first-ever national soldiers’ and sailors’ asylum to provide medical and convalescent care for discharged members of the Union Army and Navy volunteer forces. The asylum was the first of its kind in the world to provide civilian medical care to Veterans of temporary volunteer forces. This is where the VA originated from.
Today’s Veterans Health Administration (VHA) originated during the Civil War as the first federal hospitals and Domiciliaries ever established for the nation’s volunteer military forces.
Our goal is to ensure that the volunteer experience at the OVAMC is as rewarding to the volunteer as it is beneficial to the patients, families, visitors, and caregivers.
Our Volunteers provide important functions throughout the OVAMC to help make our patients’ visits a more enjoyable one. Through the on-boarding process each volunteer’s talents and skills are closely matched with one of our wide variety of assignments. To learn more about this process and how you can begin to serve our nation’s Veterans at the OVAMC
