The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(r) is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and 24 locations in the Illinois region, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions.
We are still planning an in-person walk this year but are modifying this event slightly due to COVID-19. We are expecting fewer people at the event itself and will adhere to all CDC guidelines but still need volunteers for a variety of roles including:
Set-Up
6AM-8:30AM
Assist staff member with the set-up and preparation of event site
Breakdown/Cleanup
10:30AM-1:00PM
Assist in the breakdown of the event site
Food Area
7AM-10:30AM
Organize and distribute refreshments and snacks to the walkers
Promise Garden
7:30AM-10:30AM
Assist in the distribution, collection and "planting" of the promise garden flowers in the Promise Garden
Route Guide
9AM-12PM
Stand in designated spots along the route to guide walkers along the course
Water Station
8AM-12PM
Manage the water stations at the Start and Finish Line and along the course route

The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research. Since 1980, the Association has provided reliable information and care consultation; created supportive services for families; increased funding for dementia research; and influenced public policy changes across the state.
