Mission Statement
Supporting cancer patients and their caregivers, with a special focus on blood disorders and cancers that may require Bone Marrow or Stem Cell Transplant.
Description
Our goal is to provide financial support to these patients and their caregivers so that they may focus on healing. Most transplant centers require a dedicated caregiver agreement in order to qualify for the transplant. In many cases, this means that both adults in one household will be unable to maintain full-time employment for 100 days or more.
We are currently working directly with Advent Hospital's Bone Marrow Unit to provide grants for gas and travel expenses. In September, we will hold a Mystery Dinner and Silent Auction in New Smyrna Beach and there is an immediate need for volunteers. The funds raised will allow us to increase the funds we are able to provide. Currently, we provider $250 in gas cards. We would like to double the amount for the patients needing the longer treatment program.
