Help ensure families don’t have to face tough times alone by lifting up the hearts of those who are unexpectedly faced with emergencies.
We’re preparing for another extremely busy disaster season and it’s critical to have a trained, ready volunteer workforce to make sure we can provide relief at a moment’s notice. This year’s wildfire season is already very active and dangerous because of the severe drought and dry woodlands across the west. And experts are predicting we could see 10 or more hurricanes in the next few months. Apply or learn more here.

The work is hard, but extremely rewarding. Our expectations are high, but we train and prepare you to maximize the good you give to the world. Expectations include:
- Required training to be taken as soon as possible (provided free of charge).
- Disasters are always unpredictable; however, we know that the need is now, urgent, and ongoing.
- Local response can be any time of day and in larger disasters, shifts between 4 and 12 hours.
- Out-of-the-area deployments available
- Cost of training and travel is covered by the American Red Cross.
