The Butterflies are Waiting! Volunteer for a Garden Workday

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Keep North Charleston Beautiful

Join Keep North Charleston Beautiful for our volunteer workdays in the Park Circle Butterfly Garden. This is a great opportunity to get some exercise, make new friends all while helping the environment. During workdays, volunteers complete landscaping tasks in the Park Circle Butterfly Garden and KNCB’s pollinator gardens on the grounds of the Felix Davis Community Center.

Some tasks may include: planting flowers, weeding, watering gardens, installing cardboard as weed barrier, deadheading plants, and other general landscaping tasks.

Activities are completed under the direct supervision of KNCB staff or team leaders on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Shifts are available on Wednesdays between 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm and on Thursdays from 1pm-4pm.

Workday volunteers are eligible for KNCB’s volunteer incentive programs, including becoming eligible for the President’s Volunteer Service Award (awarded based on meeting a minimum number of hours worked). Learn more about these programs on our website at: www.keepnorthcharlestonbeautiful.org

When you sign up for this opportunity, you will receive an email with link to KNCB’s volunteer information form. Once this form is completed, you will be able to schedule your first volunteer shift.

KNCB will provide all of the training, tools, and supplies needed. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and clothing comfortable for working outside. Outdoor activities are dependent on weather conditions, so in the case of inclement weather, please reach out to the KNCB office before your volunteer shift to confirm the workday is still on the schedule.

Volunteer activities completed during a volunteer workday can be verified for school, work, military, or other required service. PLEASE NOTE: KNCB is unable to accept volunteers for court-ordered community service.
