Looking for a fun way to directly assist your community members who are food-insecure?
Objective: To assist families and seniors "shop" at the food bank at the Rochester Salvation Army located at 378 Jefferson Street in Rochester, PA
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist families with young children and seniors to select and carry food items
- Take packed bags and boxes to clients’ vehicles, if comfortable
- Keep the food bank clean and tidy
Qualifications:
- Positive, friendly attitude in assisting clients
- Able to work in cooperation with others
- Dependable
Intake and Training:
- Complete a Statement of Volunteers form
- Complete The Salvation Army’s clearance process, which includes a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and child abuse training
- On-the-job training will be provided on the first day of volunteering
Time Commitment: 9:30 AM to Noon every Tuesday and Thursday, as available
Supervision: By Commanding Officers Chris and Mary Kay Mackneer
