Teens already have a lot on their plate, and the uncertainty of the past months has not made growing up any easier! However, studies have found that caring, positive adults are one of the best predictors of student success.

Teen REACH is an after school program throughout the state of Illinois that aims to prepare pre-teens and teens for success in their future life. Our site is run by Goodwill of Central Illinois and operates out of Calvin Coolidge Middle School, serving students in grades 5-8. We chose to start up this new site this year to help students get back on track after being out of school for most of last year.

Youth in the program will receive healthy snacks, have time for tutoring and homework help, learn life skills, complete STEM projects and experiments, and design and complete service learning projects to improve their community. Plus, each day they will be able to choose some fun recreation activities and build friendships.

We are looking for volunteers who can join our group once a week to assist with passing out snacks, help kids with homework, ask them about their day, and play games or complete crafts with them once they've completed that day's lesson. A little caring and kindness can go a long way toward helping youth grow into successful adults.
