Friendly visits to hospice patients in their homes or long-term healthcare facilities to provide companionship and emotional and practical support to meet the non-medical needs of both the patients and their families and offer respite to family members and caregivers.

Friendly visits from a Hospice Volunteer may include but are not limited to, sitting with a patient while a family member runs an errand, reading, singing, playing musical instruments, playing cards, actively listening and providing emotional and spiritual support, assisting patients with making phone calls or writing letters, visiting with a certified-therapy animal, etc..

We match each opportunity with the volunteers’ location and schedule. A minimum of 2 visits per month can make a big difference. We are following all the current CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19.

If you have a desire to give your time, talents and your heart in supporting the person in need, you can make a significant impact here at Kindred Hospice.
