Responsibilities:

• Assist Director of Development and Fundraising Staff with event planning
• Aid with collection drives for major in-kind campaigns such as Back to School Drive, Thanksgiving Basket Drive & Christmas Toy Drive
• Help with hosting information tables at events with community partners to raise awareness of agency and encourage community support
• Assist and coordinate with Director of Development around silent auction and door prize donations for fundraisers
• Help with annual fundraising events like Puro Empower Gala and Spring Into Action fitness challenge
• Help at Benefit events such as benefit concerts and community market events
• Assist with promotion and event notice distribution
• Aid with mailings for fundraising campaigns
• Coordinate entertainment for special events
• Help with ticket sales and pledge drive
• Aid with item distribution
• Researches and acquires in-kind donations
• In coordination with staff, research and acquires sponsorships
• Provide event support by performing one of the following day of roles:
  • Registration
  • Entertainment assistance
  • AV assistance
  • Usher
  • Decoration and set-up
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Ability to take direction
• Effective communicator, verbally and in writing
• Detail-orientated and creative
• Works respectfully with diverse populations
• Works both independently and in cooperation with others
• Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks
• Analytical and experienced with collaborative problem-solving
• Background in event planning or volunteering at events is an asset but not required

Training & Support:

• Initial orientation either in-person or virtual
• On-going support and supervision from CASFV fundraising staff
• Letters of reference (upon request)

Commitment: The Fundraising Volunteer will commit to a minimum of six months. The

Fundraising Volunteer will provide a minimum of 5-15 hours monthly on average throughout the length of his/her commitment. The hours for this position are mostly flexible with the exception of hours volunteered during the day of special
