Dinner Service at Pillars Adult Shelter provides individuals and groups an opportunity to meet a real need among individuals experiencing homelessness - Hunger.

Each night Pillars relies on the efforts of volunteers to provide and/or serve dinner to 55 adults staying in shelter. The Dinner Service shift includes time to prepare and set-up dinner, serve dinner, and clean-up afterwards. The shift is as follows;

Dinner Service at Pillars Adult Shelter
5pm: Volunteers arrive.
5-6pm: Prepare dinner, and set-up the serving station.
6-6:45pm: Serve dinner in an A-la Carte style food line.
6:45-8pm: Break down the serving station, store leftovers, and start dishes.

This is a great opportunity to foster connections amongst a group or with others in the community, all while meeting a very real need amongst the homeless population in Appleton.

Groups up to 5, and individuals are encouraged to experience the opportunity and volunteer on a regular basis depending on the availability of the volunteer(s) but also openings in the schedule.
