Looking to partner with a CPA experienced in nonprofit accounting and QuickBooks Online to review our chart of accounts and bookkeeping practices for robustness and ensure we are positioned to capture information required for Form 990 as we grow.
Get involved with our 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization specializing in the small, fluffy dogs left behind as we establish a sound and solid accounting and finance foundation for transparency vis-à-vis our constituents! We have already set up our Chart of Accounts and entries going back to our date of incorporation are in the system. While we are not looking for a complete overhaul, meaningful changes will be made by the Treasurer as needed.

Mission Statement
Lend A Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue (LAHPSTR) is an all-volunteer, Michigan-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused, neglected, abandoned, displaced, or otherwise homeless, fluffy, small-breed dogs, primarily Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apsos. We also operate a Forever Foster "sanctuary" program where dogs may live out their natural lives, if adoption is not possible due to age, health, or behavior.
Description
- We are headquartered in Michigan. We do not maintain a physical shelter. All our dogs are in private foster homes across the US and cared for by experienced, dedicated volunteers who lovingly heal the minds, bodies and souls of the small furballs in time.
Lend A Helping Paw(r) Shih Tzu Rescue provides best-in-class, white-glove veterinary care, including advanced diagnostics and specialist care if needed, to all our dogs to address their known medical needs. We believe that rescue is as much as about proper veterinary assistance as it is about placing a dog in an adoptive home. No animal is put to sleep because of medical expenses or the inconvenience of care.
Our adoption process is designed to select those people who have a loving, patient heart and are committed to continuing the nurturing of our dogs post-adoption. Our objective is not to adopt out large numbers of dogs, but to match each adoptable dog with the best home for them.
