ORGANIZATION: Marion Polk Food Share

Marion Polk Food Share's network of food pantries and meals sites needs your help!

This network of organizations plays a critical role in providing food to our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Just like the Food Share, these pantries and meal sites rely on the time and efforts of volunteers like you to do this essential work.

Volunteering at a pantry could include any of the following tasks:

  • Client intake
  • Stocking shelves
  • Organizing donations
  • Building boxes
  • Loading vehicles
  • Much, much more!
There are times when these organizations simply do not have the volunteer support they need to distribute food. Our team at the Food Share is assembling a team of volunteers interested in supporting local pantries. Days and times will vary as needs arise.

Our mission is to bring people together to end hunger and its root causes.

Description

Every month, more than 46,000 people - including 15,000 children - will access emergency food through the Marion Polk Food Share partner network. This food may be a hot meal served at a shelter, a free community meal served at a church, or an emergency food box from a food pantry. This nutritious food will help children and adults learn, work, and thrive.

  • Must be at least 18
  • Days and times will vary depending on which organization is in need of support. Most distributions and projects last between 2 and 3 hours.
