The First Impressions Team is looking for individuals to assist in the Lab area at the Blood Draw check-in kiosk. These Volunteers greet and assist Veteran patients using their VA ID card to check in for their lab appointment.
Individuals should enjoy conversing with Veterans and those accompanying them, have the ability to communicate clearly and hear well, good at giving verbal instructions during the check-in process, become knowledgeable with other areas within the Medical Center and possess extreme patience for when the clinic gets busy during peak times.
Volunteers greet all who enter the clinic, assist with the check-in process including using current infection control procedures, give verbal directions, physically escort as needed within the waiting room and assist with giving directions to patient's next appointment(s) within the Medical Center.
Current openings are:
Wednesday and Friday - 6:30am-10:30am
Monday through Friday - 10:30am-2:30pm
VHA Directive 1193 and VA Handbook 5019 requires that Volunteers in this role have a documented COVID-19 vaccine and Flu vaccine (during flu season).
A resume is not required but can be submitted before or during the initial new volunteer appointment with CDCE.
