Eden Gardens Community Association is in need of volunteers to help renovate a house to become a learning center. Our children are far behind in the schooling due to the corona virus. This place of learning will give us an opportunity to help many children that have fallen through the cracks.
Please come and lend your skills to change this vacant property into a learning. Project includes demolition, removing debris, carpentry, any and all help is welcome.

To bring together area residents to promote a greater sense of cooperation among them, to apply for and receive grants and other sponsored funding to improve our community and surrounding property, and to help foster a sense of individual obligation and pride in our neighborhood.

Description

Eden Gardens Community Association,(EGCA) formerly Eden Garden s Block Club. It was formed in July 2010 by two long -term homeowners to assess and address the neighborhood’s continued viability and to impede further devastation and abandonment of houses in the area. The block club was incorporated on January 18, 2011 and granted 501(c)(3) tax exempt status on Janua ry 22, 2013
We ra n three programs from 2012-2017

  • Neighborhood improvement and the Detroit Summer Youth Employment Program.
  • a community garden in 2013 in collaboration with the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue
  • creation of a pocket park and orchard in 2016. In 2018 we built an intergenerational playground.
(Goals) to finish building a community learning center.
