Penn Asian Senior Services (PASSi) is a nonprofit organization that serves low-income seniors from across the Greater Philadelphia Region. One of PASSi's cornerstone programs is its Evergreen Center, the region's first senior community center designed to address the interests and needs of Asian American seniors. Although the majority of Evergreen Center's members are Asian American seniors, the center serves seniors from all demographic backgrounds. Located in the Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, Evergreen Center was open for one year prior to the pandemic and re-opened in June 2021. Since re-opening Evergreen Center has enrolled more than 200 seniors. PASSi is currently seeking volunteer art instructors to teach classes once per week from the end of August through mid-November in Evergreen Center's new art studio. The art studio includes space to teach 10-15 students and will have a kiln installed in the coming weeks. PASSi looking for art instructors that will complement our existing watercolor and ceramics instructors to create a well-round group of art classes for active seniors. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who would like to share their passion for art and would like to share their knowledge with others. PASSi would also be open to an in-kind arrangement for art instructors seeking a space for their class.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote the well being of Asian American seniors and other adults who are disadvantaged by their language and cultural barriers.
Description
PASSi currently provides community based culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate adult day care in our Penn Asian Jubilee Center as well as in-home health care services to low-income elderly and disabled adult Asian Americans who reside in the greater Philadelphia metro area. In each case, our clients are ailing, disabled and disadvantaged by cultural and language barriers. Through these services, vulnerable members of Asian American communities have the opportunity to maintain healthy, dignified, independent lives and prevent premature admissions to nursing home care. For their families, this service provides peace of mind and respite from the need to fulfill filial obligations to care for elderly parents and disabled adults at all costs.
