Mission Statement

It is under the premise of civil rights that our mission statement is born. It is our mission to deliver an equal educational opportunity for all of America's children and moreover, America’s poor children. As our students move into the 21st-century workforce, it is our belief that all children, regardless of race or economic status, can succeed when they have access to systematic and organized educational process. Scholars First Academies will provide all of our students with the challenging academics tutoring through the use of Common State Standards, which provides a scope and sequence of skills. Students are provided social skills building opportunities needed to graduate from top colleges and secure careers to succeed in a competitive 21st century world; to serve as the next generation of young adults that affect positive social change in their communities and advance greater global good.

Description

Scholars First Academies seeks to create a future in which thousands of children graduate from four-year colleges and return to their communities and eradicate the last traces of the achievement gap. Scholars First Academies mission is to close the achievement gap by opening a cluster of schools.

In order for Scholars First Academies achieve its mission of eliminating the achievement gap, we believe that Scholars First Academies must scale quickly, yet with a focus on the quality of instruction and programming.

We have identified target cities due to the widespread educational disparities that exist between students from low-income communities and their higher-income peers. Scholars First Academies must establish a regional structure that is financially sustainable as well as operationally efficient and effective. We intend to open elementary/middle (K-8) charter schools in an initial cluster of eight schools which will enable regional collaboration and sharing of resources in order to bring the highest quality education to the students each school serves.
