Role Summary

Brighten the holidays for Tubman families by supporting our annual holiday gift drive. Each year, Tubman’s Holiday Gift Program provides donated gifts to over 600 adults and children. The Holiday Gift Program Assistant will do targeted outreach and coordination with community partners and organize donated gifts to make a difference for families over the holiday season.

Position Responsibilities
  • Receive, sort, and organize holiday gift donations and run occasional errands as needed
  • Help lead groups of volunteers as they package donations and greet donors as needed
  • Communicate regularly with Community Relations Manager and other agency staff as required
Position Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge and comfort with databases and using Microsoft Office
  • Organizational and communication skills; reliability, creativity, and resourcefulness
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, able to lead a group and provide direction to others
  • Personal access to a car is preferred but not required
  • Physical requirements: walking, lifting, and standing for long periods
Time Commitment & Availability
  • Flexible weekday, daytime hours, 5 hours per week October & November, and 10-15 hours a week during the month of December.
  • Availability for 5 -7 hours during the first two weeks of January is preferred but not required.
Supervision & Training
  • Supervised by the Community Relations Manager

For more than 45 years, Tubman has helped people of all ages, all genders, and all cultural backgrounds struggling with relationship violence, substance abuse, mental health, and other forms of trauma. Throughout the Twin Cities, Tubman provides safe shelter, legal services, counseling, youth programming, and community education. Last year, we helped about 17,700 people in Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington counties and the surrounding area, get the support and information they need to experience safety, hope, and healing.
