  • Be the safety, comfort, and hope for those who are unexpectedly impacted by disasters. Help coordinate basic human needs like shelter, food and clothing so they can begin putting their lives back together.
  • Help ensure families don’t have to face tough times alone by lifting up the hearts of those who are unexpectedly faced with emergencies.

People affected by disaster need your support and care! As a Red Cross Shelter volunteer, you'll be part of a team providing a safe place to rest and a path toward recovery. A commitment of a least 14 consecutive days to volunteer for 8- or 12-hour shifts is needed (we'll provide travel accommodations).   • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Initial training include about 4 hours of on-line education as an overview of Disaster Operations and the components the volunteer need to be aware of
  • Must commit to complete assigned training and agree to delpoy outside of Massachusetts for 14 days
