Be a First Lego League (FLL) Project Volunteer at Bayshore Christian Ministries in East Palo Alto. Make a difference for youth in this role. Please see below for more information:
Project Volunteer Expectations
- Learn about this year’s FLL program
- Work with the kids to accomplish the project. Work with the BCM liaison (Rosie) to get project materials
- No Lego Robotics experience required. Just need to guide kids through an innovation science project
- Time commitment - Saturdays 945a-1230p
- Attend all Saturday sessions with kids
- Attend all Saturday (12-1230p) coach debrief meetings
- If the project is behind schedule, there might be some weekday meetings to catch up
- We understand you cannot attend all Saturday sessions. Let the team leads know in advance if you cannot make it. Please commit to attend at least 80% of all sessions. This will allow for time to build relationships with the kids but also continuity in project work with the kids
Here is an example of the FLL innovation project that the volunteer will facilitate with the kids: https://firstinspiresst01.blob.core.windows.net/first-forward/fll-challenge/fll-challenge-cargo-connect-overview.pdf
