The Community Engagement VISTA helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the volunteer base at Catholic Charities and advancing individual and group partnerships.
Using a new volunteer management software program and social media strategies, the VISTA will recruit volunteers and promote the services of Catholic Charities to the community at large.. By cultivating a strong and robust volunteer network, CCAN will be able to expand our services and serve more people in need.
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is one of the largest and oldest social service agency in New Jersey. CCAN serves more than 62,000 people individuals annually across 87 programs in a four county area.
Catholic Charities recognizes the inherent dignity and worth of all people and, responding with quality services and compassion, meets the corporeal needs of the poor.

Description
It is the purpose of Catholic Charities to support and advance the mission of charity and justice in the Archdiocese of Newark. Catholic Charities seeks to build the human assets of the communities it serves (Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union counties) through the compassionate delivery of innovative social service, behavioral health, and education programs.
Last year Catholic Charities served over 70,000 people in need. Catholic Charites has over 75 programs in 30 locations throughout the four county area. Catholic Charities provides services that are of the highest quality, efficiently administered and demonstrably needed by the communities it serves.
During the past several months of the Covid19 pandemic, Catholic Charities has provided many essential services to the community and remained open throughout to assist those in need
