Are you interested in the intersecting field of law and politics? Do you want to help produce a full and balanced picture of the issues, events and forces shaping Europe?

Join us as we prepare the launch of Europe in Review ('EiR’), an upcoming multimedia platform covering Constitutional Politics, Human Rights, International Relations & Geopolitics, and Security & Defense in Europe and further afield.

EiR offers many editorial and non-editorial positions as part of its Volunteering Program. These roles greatly contribute to the operation of the platform for the benefit of its readers, contributors, and partners.

Working with EiR will provide you with excellent learning and career development opportunities to propel you into your future career with confidence.

Depending on your skills, abilities and career interests, you may choose to become a monthly Contributor, an Associate Editor or a Communications & Engagement Officer.

We also offer short-term Internship positions for tertiary students and recent graduates who seek academic connectivity, experienced mentorship and a potential steppingstone to future professional opportunities.

If applying, you should be able to dedicate five hours or more each week to working with us. Volunteers should commit to a period of at least six months while interns are expected to be available for a minimum of eight and up to 12 weeks.

EiR is being developed by the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance ('CPG’), an academic institute and think tank attached to the Faculty of Law of Thammasat University in Bangkok.

Built upon collaboration between the German universities of Frankfurt and Münster, and Thammasat University in Thailand, CPG is one of only five Centers of Excellence established since 2009 under the Excellence Initiative of the German Federal Government.

Mission Statement

CPG is active in research and education as well as in training and consultancy, and supports a wide circle of stakeholders. We host academic events; publish research and knowledge; advise scholars, professionals, and institutions; and bring together theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Our network of partners comprises academic institutions, scholars and students, governmental agencies and professionals, non-governmental organizations, and activists. Our expertise extends to comparative constitutional and administrative law, human rights, peace and security studies, and governance and compliance, as well as law and policy reform. CPG - throughout its members and partners - offers conferences and seminars, training courses and workshops, and project evaluations and consultancy services to the public and interested parties.

Description

Situated at the Faculty of Law of Thammasat University in Bangkok, CPG is a joint institute of Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt, Westfälische Wilhelms University Münster, and Thammasat. It is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office with administrative support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

CPG is an academic institution, think tank, and provider of advisory services. Our work focuses on developments in public policy and good governance, with a regional focus on Southeast Asia. Based on an interdisciplinary approach involving legal, political, and social sciences, we provide platforms for the exchange of ideas and the development of solutions. We cooperate with passion and dedication, and we value our partners and clients.
