Opera NOVA

Yellow Text

Opera NOVA, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia, needs grant writers to identify and apply to grantors (whether they are corporations, foundations, or an individual) to raise the funds needed for its productions. Opera NOVA is committed to making opera affordable and accessible for all and is dependent on donations raised.

A stay at home mother or retired individual (with fundraising experience) would find this a great opportunity to earn extra income and help raise the profile and status of high culture in Arlington. A stipend will be provided. For more information, email the Opera NOVA office at operanovaoffice@verizon.net or david.ryan.opera@gmail.com of call us at (703) 536-7557 or (703) 863-7598.

About Opera NOVA

Location:

PO Box 7057, Arlington, VA 22207, US

Mission Statement

Opera NOVA works to bring the joy of opera to the local community and develop regional support for the performing arts by fostering an appreciation for local theater across generations.

Description

Opera NOVA was founded in 1992 as a volunteer-based, non-profit charitable organization to bring the joy of opera to the local community and develop regional support for the performing arts by fostering an appreciation for local theater across generations.

The Guild is incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has been recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) entity.

Over the years, Opera NOVA has offered major financial support for an annual family opera that is attended by school children during week day performances and by children with their families and community-based organizations on weekends. Because of our efforts, 50,000 school-aged children, many of whom would not have the opportunity otherwise, have attended an opera. The performances not only offer children a unique opportunity to hear an opera sung in English, but they also learn about various opera and theatre techniques, from special effects to the intricacies of set and lighting design.
